“Beyond the Page” series with Dr. Ed Eng. Dr. Eng will share his book “Accidental Mayor: A Collection of Stories from the Side Streets of Chinatown to the Main Street of City Hall” in conversation with moderator Edward Yen. The two will discuss themes such as hope, hard work, community, love, and trust that are at the heart of Dr. Eng’s best-seller.
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a signed copy of “Accidental Mayor” at the event with 50% of the proceeds donated to CAM.
About the Book: “Accidental Mayor” is the story of the various paths Dr. Eng’s life has taken, beginning from growing up in Los Angeles’s Chinatown as a Hong Kong immigrant to being Mayor of a So Cal city – an unexpected turn in his journey. By following his academic and professional careers as engineer, media professional, consultant, and professor, Dr. Eng hopes that his book will encourage readers to trust the unorthodox paths that their lives may take and to lean on community while navigating the unexpected.
CAM’s “Beyond the Page” series features conversations with AAPI authors and focuses on amplifying Asian American voices and their diverse experiences.
