Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month Movie Screening

Join us for a movie screening to celebrate AAPI Heritage Month! Our first AAPIHM movie screening is hosted by Councilmember John S. Lee. This year we will screen "The Farewell", an uplifting film written and directed by Lulu Wang. "The Farewell" tells the story of a Chinese family who discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decides to keep her in the dark. The screening will include a Q & A with Tzi Ma discussing ‘Diversity in Hollywood: AAPI Representation, Behind-the-Scenes’. There will be one-hour reception before the screening with food & beverage provided.

WHEN: May 19, 2022, 6 - 9 p.m.

6 pm – 7 pm: Red Carpet / Reception
7 pm – 8:40 pm: The Farewell Movie Screening
8:40 pm – 9 pm: Q&A

WHERE: TCL Chinese Theatre (6925 Hollywood Blvd.)

COST: Free

Parking Garage : Enter underground parking garage from Highland Ave. in front of Loews Hollywood or on Orange Court between Hollywood Blvd. and Franklin Ave.
Parking Rates: Enjoy up to 4 hours for $3 with validation from the TCL Chinese Theatre. Regular parking rate applies thereafter. $2.00 every 20 minutes; $6.00 every hour. Daily Maximum of $20.00
